Here are the steps involved in dental implant treatment.
- Consultation: Our team inspects your mouth to ensure you are free from cavities, gum disease, and other oral issues. We also use x-rays and CT scans to establish you have a healthy bone.
- Implant surgery: Using experience and the latest technologies, we insert a titanium screw at a precise location in your jawbone. This outpatient procedure is carried out after numbing your gums to minimize discomfort.
- Healing: We give your implant 4-6 months to allow healing. As your implant heals, your jawbone fuses with the biocompatible metal screw during osseointegration to become one structure.
- Abutment placement: After your implant heals, we open your gums with minor surgery to place an abutment that connects your implant to a tooth prosthetic. During this appointment, we also take your bite impressions to custom-make your crown or bridge.
- Teeth placement: After two weeks of abutment healing, it’s now time to restore your missing teeth with dental crowns, dentures, or a bridge. Once the implant treatment is done, we restore your optimal oral function and stabilize and preserve the surrounding teeth and tissue.
